We get some hard calls at Big Buddy. This morning a distraught mother from West Auckland rang in tears about her nine-year-old boy who had been beaten up by the stepfather she had mistakenly brought into their lives to help father her boy. She blamed herself for bringing the wrong man into his life. She’d seen her son latching onto any man he came across and had tried contacting the birth father, who disappeared when the boy was three months old, but he didn’t want any contact with his son. So she found a man she thought would be the good man he needed. He wasn’t. Now this heartbroken mother desperately wants a Big Buddy for her son – our heartbreak is not enough mentors in West Auckland. If you know a good man out west please tell him we need him!
